Piper's true birthplace and parentage are unknown to her — she was simply found, as a baby, outside the doorstep of two elderly hyur who'd spent all their lives in Ishgard's notorious Brume. Having never had the opportunity to have children of their own, the kindly couple decided to take the miqo'te orphan in and raise her as if she were their own child — though her ears, her tail, and her affinity for crunching into raw fish meant that her parents had to explain to her that she was adopted at a very early age.While Piper's parents did their best to teach her of miqo'te customs and culture, the fact that they were both nearly illiterate and had no keeper companions or associates made doing so a rather difficult task. Since female keeper surnames are typically passed down matrilineally — and the identity of Piper's mother is unknown to her — she was allowed to choose a last name of her own once they thought she was old enough to do so; after casting about for ideas for several days, Piper settled on 'Wrenj' as a suitably miqo'te-ish corruption of the word 'wrench', which is, in her mind, the most useful tool there is.Though her adoptive parents passed away around when she came of age, Piper was always independently-minded and has adapted well to life on her own. She took over her father's small plumbing business when he died, and can be most often found knee deep in water, sludge, or worse as she cheerfully repairs pipes, aqueducts, sluices, and more. Less frequently — when business is particularly poor — she is known to take work as an adventurer-for-hire, slogging through dungeons in exchange for a respectable cut of the loot.

House Call
While Piper makes most of her gil solving serious plumbing problems for the major city-states, she isn't averse to stopping by your personal residence to unclog a drain or plug a leak.Fellow Ishgardian

Piper does a bit of adventuring work for coin every now and again. Alternately, if she's following the path of a particularly ancient sewer or aqueduct, it could very well lead into a dank dungeon or ancient ruin.Relaxing Together
After a long day of doing what she does best, Piper is often keen to de-stress, whether that involves a trip to the local tavern, a jaunt to one of Doma's famous hot springs, dinner and a show at a fancy theater, or something else entirely!Your Choice
